CANADA POST STRIKE UPDATES

As of November 15th, Canada Post is on strike until further notice. For the majority of our customers, this will not affect us getting you your treats! It may affect shipping to the following:

  1. Remote regions in Canada
  2. Residences that require mailroom accress like apartment buildings and condominiums

If you are shipping to one of these areas or residences, we recommend you reach out to us to determine the best option for you. Please call us at 1-888-271-6910 or email us at info@rheothompson.com

We also anticipate that our courier partners will be busier than usual, so please give your order lots of time to arrive before the holidays.

Shipping FAQs

We are a small but mighty team so most Ontario orders are shipped within 1 to 2 business days and are generally delivered within 48 hours after leaving the Candy Factory. For out of province or US orders, please factor in additional shipping timelines. We recommend giving yourself enough time to avoid disappointment.

We ship all parcels through expedited mail services. Due to seasonal volume, courier times may vary. 

Once your parcel is with the courier service you will receive a confirmation email with a tracking code. You can use this to see when your package will arrive. If you have questions or concerns about the delivery of your package once it is with the courier service, we recommend contacting the courier directly as our information is limited at that point.

If there is a discrepancy between what you ordered and what your received, please let us know as soon as you can so we can rectify the situation.

Due to health and safety regulations, we are unable to return food items once they have left the store. If you have changed your mind about a certain product, we recommend sharing them with your family and friends. It is a great way to become the family favourite!

If you have found that there is a mistake with the order that you placed and would like to change or cancel part of your order, please feel free to give us a call at 1-888-271-6910. 

We are able to accommodate most changes as long as your order has not already been processed. 

Please note that changes at your request are subject to a 5% processing fee. We recommend carefully reviewing your order before submitting. 

Once the courier has picked up your parcel you will receive an automated email with your tracking code (usually within 24 hours of the Order Completed email). Click the tracking code to be taken to the latest information on your package. 

If you don’t see your tracking email, please check your junk mail folder.

Each business has their own way of offering Pickup Orders. Here’s what we’re doing at Rhéo Thompson Candies.

Available Monday through Saturday 9 am to 5:30 pm and Sunday 11 am to 3 pm.

Our Shipping Info

Rhéo Thompson Candies has four different types of delivery options depending on shipping destinations.

  • Within Stratford City Limits
  • Ontario
  • Canadian Orders Outside Ontario
  • US Orders ( We ship to the continental US and Canada excluding Alaska)

Cooler Weather Courier Rate Chart (October – May)

All prices are in Canadian dollars and are determined by courier rates. Shipping weights are in pounds (lbs).

Shipping parcels weighing over 20 lbs. or addresses in remote locations may incur additional charges.

Within Stratford City Limits
We have our own delivery vehicle for orders within Stratford city limits. Orders are delivered on the next business day (Monday through Friday) and are charged $10.00 for all orders independent of shipping weight. We can deliver within Stratford City limits year-round regardless of temperature.

Ontario Orders

Ontario orders are generally shipped using CanPar unless being sent to an apartment building, condo, or P.O. Box. These orders are sent via Canada Post to ensure access to these specialized mailrooms. Ontario orders can take from 7 to 10 days for delivery. Please note that orders can be delayed due to hot weather.

Canadian Orders outside of Ontario 

All Canadian Orders outside of Ontario are also shipped using CanPar. Canadian orders can take from three days to a week for delivery. Please note that orders can be delayed or not available during the spring and summer due to hot weather.

US Orders 

US orders are shipped by CanPar. US orders can take from three days to two weeks for delivery. Please note that orders can be delayed or not available during the spring and summer due to hot weather.

Easter and Christmas Seasonal Delivery

During the Easter and Christmas seasons, order delivery outside of Stratford city limits may take up to seven business days to process. It is important that you allow that much time in advance when ordering for gifts.

CanPar Delivery and Returns

CanPar delivers to residential and business addresses. In the case of PO Boxes, Apartments or secured entrance residential addresses, we will ship your order with Canada Post through their Priority Service. If no one is available to receive the delivery, CanPar is instructed to leave your parcel on your front porch.

CanPar returns parcels to us for a number of reasons – consignee moved, incorrect address, parcel refused (hard to believe anyone would refuse a parcel from Rhéo Thompson Candies!), unable to locate the address, etc.. Returns only happen after multiple attempts to deliver. If a parcel is returned to us, we cannot accept returns of food items for health and safety reasons. We will contact the sender with the option to have the parcel sent to an alternate address and the standard shipping charge will be required again.

Shipping Weights

Please note that shipping weights take into account product packaging.

During the warm summer months (May to September) we recommend purchasing an insulated bag with a gel freezer pack (both reusable). This will add $12.00 to the current shipping charges.

Order Changes

Shipping in Warm Weather

During the warm weather season we are able to ship within Ontario out of Stratford on next day delivery (Monday through Thursday) during the warm summer months (May to September) by putting your order in an insulated container with a gel freezer pack (both reusable). This will add $12.00 to the current shipping charges. We do not ship orders on Fridays as next day delivery is not available on weekends and we cannot guarantee heat protection for your order at the delivery depot.  In the Fall, when the temperature drops below 20 °C/ 68 °F, we will remove this additional fee. We cannot ship to further locations at this time without additional fees for next day deliveries. Delivery fees are based on shipping destination and package weights.
